If cryptography is cracked ahead of Q day we will have much bigger problems than cryptocurrencies. All online banking would become unreliable. Logins and device identity depend on keys and certificates to tell a real user or server from an impersonator. If those fall, an attacker can approve fraudulent bank transfers, and impersonate institutions. Encrypted messaging platforms used by Governments and agencies around the world would all be vulnerable. Top secret information available to all.
